Photography Exhibition of LUKA MJEDA presenting the pre-renaissance Albanian sculptor and architect ANDREA ALESSI.
Luka Mjeda works as a freelance photographer since 1980. A four year colaboration with illustrator and designer Mirko Ilić resulted with numerous photo-designer solutions of posters, calendars, music covers (single, LP, audio cassettes, etc.) and hundreds of weekly and monthly magazine covers. His first public appearance was at an Exhibition at Gjuro Gallery in 1984 and also spent 5 months in Los Angeles covering the Olympic Games. Returning to Zagreb, he continued his work as a photographer working for major Museums and Galleries and became a member of The Croatian Association of Freelance Artists. During the 1980´s and 1990´s he worked for many Advertising Agencies while collaborating with Magazines and Newspapers, such as: Vjesnik, Danas, Start, Studio, Banka, Bug, Playboy, Kontura, Panorama (I), L'espresso (I), Los Angeles Times (USA), while he is always dedicated to Fine Art Photography.His photography is in permanent collections of the Museum of Contemporary (MSU), the Modern Gallery (MG),the Museum of Arts and Crafts (MUO) in Zagreb; in the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka and in various private collections of photography admirers. Mjeda was Director of the Croatian Centre for Design from 2007 until 2014 and is Founder and President of the Croatian Photography Center (HFC / CPC) in Zagreb since 2006.
ANDREA ALESSI - EARLY REANAISSANCE ARTIST - 15th century architect and sculptor lived in Split (today´s Croatia) and worked in Šibenik, Rab, Trogir, Split, Dubrovnik (in Croatia) and in Ancona, San Nicolá Island (in Italy). Croatian & English language
